2.4 urban air mobility

Urban Air Mobility (UAM) represents a new frontier in aviation: the "Air Taxi." Designed to fly short distances within or between cities (typically 20 km to 250 km), these aircraft are almost exclusively eVTOLs (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing).
Currently, UAM is transitioning from a "future concept" to a commercial reality, with several leading models expected to soon enter initial service.

Key Characteristics of UAM Aircraft
● Distributed Electric Propulsion (DEP): Instead of one large rotor like a helicopter, UAMs use multiple small electric motors. This makes them significantly safer (redundancy) and quieter than traditional helicopters.
● Vertical to Horizontal Transition: Many models take off vertically like a drone but tilt their rotors or use wings to fly forward like a plane, which is much more energy-efficient.
● Urban Infrastructure: These aircraft operate from "Vertiports"—small pads located on top of parking garages, train stations, or office buildings.
● Rapid Turnaround: They are designed for "back-to-back" missions, with battery-swapping or fast-charging systems.
